Charity Event at Bournemouth, November 2011

The charity rugby match on the 20^th March between Bournemouth University 1^st team and Bournemouth President's XV in aid of the charity Book Aid for Africa (BAFA) was a very successful day. Bournemouth President's XV won by 41 to 15 and took away the Carlsberg Cup. In total we raised £792.65 for the charity and were donated 130 books which will be shipped over to the schools in Africa. This was all due to an astonishing amount of support with the book donations and donated gifts in kind for the raffle prizes prior to the event, and through money donations, raffle ticket sales and ticket sales all on the day. The Mayor of Christ church and his wife also kindly came to support the charity and the event. We were very lucky with the weather as it added to the great atmosphere of the day and we are very keen to keep the charity rugby match as an annual event for the charity. The book boxes for donated books will also be kept in Bournemouth University library as a lasting legacy.
